You’ve seen the ads, the jokes, and maybe even the movie. You roll your eyes when people say the name “Christian Mingle,” but deep down inside there’s a part of you that wonders if there’s a smidgen of a chance that Christian Mingle might actually be a legitimate method of online dating.

How Does Christian Mingle Work? :: Setting Up Your Profile
The set up process for Christian Mingle is fairly simple. And for future reference, it’s a lot like setting up a Match.com account. (You know, just in case you ever want to try that, too.) eharmony takes the longest of all because of its extensive personality test, FYI.

How does Christian Mingle Work? :: The Matching Process
Once you get your profile set up, it’s pretty much Open Season. Christian Mingle provides several different ways to find matches and communicate with them:
Search: You can enter any information that’s important to you in a match—age, height, weight, geographical distance, church attendance, college degree, etc. You’re able to pull matches from their entire database. If you’re a paying member, you’re then able to communicate with any of them via email, chat, or sending them a smile.
Secret Admirer: You are given various members’ profiles to view. If you click “yes” you are interested in a match, they will be emailed your profile along with 3 other members’ profiles. If they click “yes” to yours, then you both receive an email that lets you both know of your mutual interest. If they aren’t interested in you, they’ll never know you said “yes.” It’s Christian Mingle’s version of the latest mobile-only dating apps. In case you don’t want to do a full search, they offer you some profile photos for attraction-based connections.
Compass Personality Test: You take the test then it matches you with people who are compatible based on your test results. It’s not nearly as extensive as eharmony’s personality test, but it’s another method for finding matches.
Favorites: You can favorite a person’s profile and they’ll be notified that you added them to your favorites list.
You can use any of the above methods for finding matches and when you find someone who piques your interest, you can email them or chat with them online.
If there’s one thing that can be said for Christian Mingle, it’s that they certainly give you a myriad of options for finding matches and letting them know you’re interested. So you know, just file all this information away in case you ever decide to try out Christian Mingle…
