In all honesty, when it comes to the best Christian dating sites, we truly want to rank a completely Christian site as the highest and topple eharmony out of the #1 spot. But based on our objective assessments, we just haven’t found a Christian-owned site that could compete with the numbers eharmony has and, consequently, the ease for users to find more like-minded believers.

We sent Christian Crush founder, Wyatt Fisher, a few questions so he could share what sets the site apart from other online Christian dating experiences.
SR: What’s the history behind ChristianCrush.com? How did it begin?
Fisher: I have a broken past with divorced parents at age six, turbulent relationships with both my father and stepfather, and years of wild living. However, all that changed when a friend invited me to church midway through college. Within six months, I had dedicated my life to Christ and felt God’s amazing power transforming me from the inside out. With His leading, I went onto graduate school to receive both my Master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a deep passion for helping couples develop healthy, God honoring relationships.
Several years into my private practice, I was hearing more and more about online dating and how people were meeting that way. Out of curiosity, I began researching Christian dating sites and couldn’t find any high quality Christian owned sites that gave believers an alternative to secular dating sites. Therefore, I created ChristianCrush to provide a cutting edge site for believers filled with resources to help them connect and develop wholesome and lasting relationships.
SR: What sets ChristianCrush.com apart from other online dating sites that target Christians?
Fisher: We have several unique features that set us apart from the competition. We are the only Christian dating site using video profiles, screening members for sexual offenses, including a derivative of the Big Five personality assessment, and providing two weeks free for members with 100% completed profiles.
In addition, we are one of the only Christian dating sites that is actually Christian owned and operated, tithes 10% to local ministries, and was created by a Christian psychologist. SR: SingleRoots has ranked eharmony as the #1 place for online Christian dating. Why are we wrong?
Fisher: I personally feel both eharmony and Match should not be included in a list of top Christian dating sites because they aren’t considered Christian sites for several reasons. First, they are not Christian owned and operated; second, they don’t promote Biblical values through their profiles; and third, they don’t offer Christ-centered articles to help members develop God-honoring relationships. Furthermore, these secular sites tend to attract people who may claim to be “Christian” but really aren’t in practice. In contrast, sites that are explicitly Christian tend to attract believers who are much more sincere in their faith.
SR: What is one thing you wish ChristianCrush.com members (or online daters, in general) would keep in mind?
Fisher: Safety. I think it’s essential for all online daters to keep safety in mind by implementing several guidelines, such as taking your time to get to know someone online before meeting them in person, creating a separate email account for online dating to protect your personal one, not disclosing any identifying information in your profile, always having dates in public areas, arranging your own mode of transportation to and from your date, making sure someone else knows about your date with where you’ll be and when you’ll be back, and never pursuing anyone requesting you meet alone or give them money.
SR: Do you have any tips for people wanting to improve their online dating profile?
Fisher: Yes. The more information you provide in your profile, the more likely you’ll draw others in. On ChristianCrush, there are four profile pieces. The first is the video profile, which provides a tremendous amount of information about you both verbally and nonverbally and is definitely the single most important piece to your profile. Next would be the personality assessment because this allows people to see your temperament type and if they would be a compatible match or not. Third are the photos, and it’s always great to post a variety so people can see you in varying contexts. Fourth is the profile questions that, if answered earnestly, can provide incredible information about you in all sorts of categories.
I also encourage online daters to be proactive and view sending smiles and messages like gardening, the more seeds you plant, the more likely healthy produce will grow…..so don’t give up!
