One of the biggest lessons we’ve been able to glean from this Online Dating Experiment that we launched a couple of months ago is you can’t predict what anyone’s online dating experience will be like. Big city or small town, male or female, Christian-owned site or secular site—there are just so many variables to online dating. It should be comforting to many of us who are using it but haven’t gone on a date yet that we are not alone. It happens to a lot of people. From month to month, we’ve seen people get discouraged and then bounce right back to excitement and then get depressed all over again.
If nothing else, we hope this experiment encourages you that online dating isn’t always a quick fix to a lack of dates. It’s important to keep a healthy perspective about who you are in Christ, as well as what you will and will not compromise on because it can take a while to find both the site and the matches that are the best fit for you. We checked in with our participants for their second month interviews. Here’s what each of them had to say:
- The Match.com Experiment :: MJ’s Story, Month 2
- The Christian Mingle Experiment :: Micah’s Story, Month 2
- The Christian Café Experiment :: Denise’s Story, Month 2
You can find their first month’s interviews below:

And in case you missed it, we launched a new eharmony experiment last week. You can read about it here:
